New stores in downtown Peterborough Peterborough's downtown core continues to evolve. The former Scotiabank building at 333 George Street will be opening this summer as a Factory Outlet store for Shoes, Bedding, Curtains and Home Décor. Owner Edmund Qin is renovating the space right now, and yes yet to decide on a final name for the store. Meanwhile Edmund also purchased the store next door at 337 George, the former United Cigar Store. The new store will be called Smooking, and will feature everything from high-end Cuban cigars, to a complete line of pipes, to a full selection of cigarettes, plus smoking accessories and gifts. Edmund and his wife Ying also own the Downtown Dollar Convenience store. For more information on either project, you can call 705-876-8688.
