A Winery in the Kawarthas?
You may not know this but the Kawarthas has it's own winery! Kawartha Country Wines is located just North of Buckhorn on Highway 36, and they make a number of fruit and grape wines. They've just teamed up with Empire Cheese out of Campbellford to create a Raspberry Cheddar Cheese. They use Raspberry Wine, made from Buckhorn Berry Farm raspberries, which is then infused into a block of Empire Old Cheddar! It's all local, Kawartha Choice, and available at Kawartha Country Wines, which is open seven days a week, at 2275 County Road 36 Buckhorn, (705) 657-9916 or get more information online at www.kawarthacountrywines.ca.
