Welcome to The Business Beat.

New Volkswagen Dealership

Congratulations to the Eatson Family. After 40 years in business they just opened their new Volkswagen Dealership at 500 Towerhill Road, just off of Chemong Road, across from Portage Place. Bigger and better doesn't quite capture it. It's a brand new state-of-the-art building, built using local trades.

New location for MEDIchair

Meanwhile, the old location of Peterborough Volkswagen is home to a different kind of transportation. MEDIchair has taken over 329 McDonnel Street. Owner Allison Rolph-Seiderer is excited about the new location, which has a complete range of mobility products, rentals, parts and repairs, as well as complete home or business accessibility modifications. The Chamber of Commerce monthly Business After Hours will be held at MEDIchair on Tuesday June 2 from 4 - 6 p.m., and watch for their Grand Opening on June 11 with a full day of activities planned. For more information visit www.medichair.com or call (705) 740-2650.

Many Open Houses

Lots of Open Houses of note, the Cox Terrace retailers on Rubidge Street, just North of Charlotte have an Open House this Friday and Saturday (June 5 and 6). There are raffles, demonstrations and more from Back of the Closet Boutique, Bliss Esthetic Excellence, Champagne Hair Studio, Peterborough Floral, Strano's Mediterranean Market and Victory Art Supply.

The Wee Tartan Shop

Lori and Alan Watson are opening The Wee Tartan Shop North in Bobcaygeon this Saturday as part of Bobcaygeon's Unlock The Summer event. It's the second location for The Wee Tartan Shop, which is also located in Port Perry, selling and renting kilts, celtic jewelry, Edinburgh crystal and British food.

Happy Times Daycare Open Hours

And yet another Open House this Saturday and Sunday for Happy Times Daycare, which is a brand new business started by Stephanie Martella at 993 Talwood Drive. Happy Times is a licensed daycare facility with qualified staff, before and after school care, nutritious meals for 18 months to 5 year olds, and most importantly - spaces available! For more information call (705) 876-8999.

Emporium Hair Studio

Brent Spencer of the Emporium Hair Studio is welcoming Cathy Miles and her esthetics business Pleasant Moments. You can reach Cathy at the Emporium Hair Studio 647 George Street North or call (705) 745-4247.
