New Owners at Jones General Store in Cavan Jones General Store in Cavan has new owners - Durai Ilango and Chandrika Durai took over last week. For now the only thing that will change is the name, to the Saimar General Store. The gas bar, convenience store, and restaurant all remain. The Durai's are both accomplished engineers who have decided to make a lifestyle change and move their family to the beautiful Cavan Hills.

The Hunter Street Saddlery is Now Open The Hunter Street Saddlery is now open for business. The store carries a full line of English horseback riding equipment and clothing, including Wintech and Bates saddles, Pessoa saddles, leather and blankets, Tuff Rider clothing, International and Tipperary riding helmets and Breyer horse toys for kids. Bridles, boots, blankets or brushes they have it all. The owners are Amy Croteau, the former owner of Parkhill on Hunter and a well-known local stable owner, competitor and riding coach, and Alison Braund a riding competitor and horse owner for 15 years. The regular monthly Chamber Business After Hours is also on tomorrow, September 12, at Winmar Property Restoration Specialists at 686 Rye Street from 4 - 6 pm. Winmar owner Christine Bailey is promising a "Taste of the Hawaiian Tropics", as well as a tour of the facilities, equipment demonstrations and prizes. The Women's Business Network starts their Fall season on Wednesday, September 13, at the Holiday Inn Waterfront. Catherine Swift, President and CEO of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business is the guest speaker.
