The Publican House

Congratulations to Jon Conquer on finally opening The Publican House at the corner of Charlotte and Rubidge streets (300 Charlotte Street). They are now licensed to sell beer directly to the public through their on-site retail store, on the patio when the weather is nice, and to area Restaurants by direct delivery. Publican House produces three different brands, P.H. Ale, Square Nail Pale Ale, and O.C. Rouse Wheat Ale. O.C. Rouse built the house back in 1877 and yes, he used square nails. They sell by the glass, cans, 1.9 litre "Growlers" and kegs. Jon Conquer is the former brewmaster at Kawartha Lakes Brewery. For more information call (705) 874-5743.

Gotta HavVa PizZa

On your way home from buying beer you can pick up a pizza at Gotta HavVa PizZa. Owned by John and Dawn Harrison, the new pizza shop is located at 1840 Lansdowne Street in the Maple Ridge Plaza.
