Summer Camp: Camp Kawartha presents Summer Camps - Lakefield from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at Camp Kawartha (1010 Birchview Rd, Lakefield, KOL 2H0). This hands-on, five-day program introduces younger campers to the joys of summer camp. Your child will participate in a variety of activities that will enhance their self confidence and create memories for a lifetime. Campers may participate in a range of activities that include arts and crafts, co-operative games, skill development activities, environmental based programs, recreation and adventure activities and water front activities. All day campers need to provide their own litterless, nut-free lunch including snacks for both of our morning and afternoon snack periods. Summer Camp: Peterborough Museum and Archives presents Youth Leadership Program (ages 14+) at Peterborough Museum and Archives (Museum Dr. at 300 Hunter St. E., Peterborough, K9J 6Y5). Want to volunteer as a Youth Leader at Summer Discovery and KinderKidz′ Seminars on leadership, first aid, team building and child development prepare you to volunteer with children ages 4 and up under the guidance of adult instructors in the award-winning Summer Discovery and KinderKidz programs. Training seminars take place the first week of July (dates TBA). Your volunteer Youth Leadership experience will be scheduled for any two weeks during July or August 2013. A fee is assessed to cover the cost of Canadian Red Cross Emergency First Aid Certification (TBA). Professional instruction, Summer Discovery t-shirt and programming resource guide are free of charge. Summer Camp: The Darkroom Project presents "Zoom" Photography Camp, Session 1, ages 10 - 14 from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Gallery in the Attic (140-1/2 Hunter St. W., Peterborough, K9H 2K8). This camp is designed to explore and experiment with film photography. Participants will receive first hand experience using various cameras to capture images on film. Throughout the course, we will teach traditional photography printing in the darkroom, as well as alternative methods - some of which they would be able to recreate at home. At the end of each session, the youth will put together a professional level exhibit of their photographs for their families, friends, and general public at Gallery in the Attic. There will be 4 sessions offered throughout the summer. Each session is 9 days. Light snacks will be provided but participants are expected to provide their own bagged lunch each day. Registration fees cover the cost of photography supplies and related materials as well as a film camera and film to keep after the camp. Summer Camp: Camp Kawartha presents Summer Camp: Introduction to Traditional Overnight Camp at Camp Kawartha (1010 Birchview Rd, Lakefield, KOL 2H0). For new and old campers alike, this 3-day program is intended to allow 8-10 year old campers to get their “feet wet,” with activities and programs across camp. This short but intense experience will keep campers on their toes from the wake-up bell to camp-wide evening snack. Campers will be exposed to a wide range of activities and begin building their skills. Each day will have a special theme and culminate in an exciting and dynamic evening program. Summer Camp: The Darkroom Project presents "Zoom" Photography Camp, Session 4, ages 10 - 14 from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Gallery in the Attic (140-1/2 Hunter St. W., Peterborough, K9H 2K8). This camp is designed to explore and experiment with film photography. Participants will receive first hand experience using various cameras to capture images on film. Throughout the course, we will teach traditional photography printing in the darkroom, as well as alternative methods - some of which they would be able to recreate at home. At the end of each session, the youth will put together a professional level exhibit of their photographs for their families, friends, and general public at Gallery in the Attic. There will be 4 sessions offered throughout the summer. Each session is 9 days. Light snacks will be provided but participants are expected to provide their own bagged lunch each day. Registration fees cover the cost of photography supplies and related materials as well as a film camera and film to keep after the camp.
