Opened in 2023, the Peterborough Animal Care Centre includes the Peterborough Humane Society's Adoption & Education Centre, the Peterborough Regional Spay/Neuter Clinic, and the Ontario SPCA & Humane Society Dog Rehabilitation Centre. The Peterborough Humane Society advocates for the welfare of animals by improving their lives, alleviating suffering, rescuing, providing shelter, healing, facilitating adoption and reducing pet overpopulation.
