Citytv’s Breakfast Television Live Eye host Jennifer Valentyne will be broadcasting live from Fenelon Falls in the City of Kawartha Lakes on Wednesday, July 29th.

After arriving in Bobcaygeon on Tuesday, Jennifer and the Breakfast Television crew will be filming segments for Wednesday’s broadcast aboard a Happy Days Houseboat, where they’ll travel from Bobcaygeon to Fenelon Falls.

They’ll also be visiting Boyd Island and participating in kayaking and paddle boarding.

“I love the Kawarthas and we’ve had a huge response to our upcoming visit,” Jennifer says. “I’m looking forward to meeting all of our very loyal viewers in Fenelon Falls.”

Also planned for the Wednesday broadcast are features on Bobcaygeon businesses including Bigley Shoes & Clothing, Kawartha Settlers Village, and Kawartha Country Wines.

Originally, two days of live broadcasts from both Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls were planned, but scheduling conflicts resulted in a revised schedule.

Instead, Breakfast Television will be recording features on Bobcaygeon businesses — including Bigley Shoes & Clothing, Kawartha Settlers Village, and Kawartha Country Wines — for broadcast during Wednesday’s show.

Jennifer’s first live broadcast will begin at 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday. Breakfast Television will be broadcasting live from the far end of Water Street in Fenelon Falls.

CKLR Radio (“The Beav”) in Fenelon Falls will be serving free coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and donuts in their Oak Street parking lot from 5 to 10 a.m. They’ll also have a big screen set up to show the Breakfast Television broadcast.

The public is encouraged to attend to watch the live broadcast and show their support for Fenelon Falls and the City of Kawartha Lakes.

While there is no designated parking for the event, street parking is available along Oak Street and parts of Water Street, in the parking lot behind the old Livery Stable, and at Garnet Graham Park (a short walk along the trail to the broadcast site).

“On Wednesday, July 29, we will be lifting the veil on one of the truly great areas and communities in the province, right here in Kawartha Lakes,” says Mayor Andy Letham of the City of Kawartha Lakes.

Breakfast Television is viewed by more than 1 million people each week and the City of Kawartha Lakes expects the exposure from the live broadcast will generate increased interest in the region.

“The live broadcast will help showcase Kawartha Lakes as an ideal place to live, work, and play and to be recognized as a premiere tourist destination with some of the best attractions, natural beauty, and year-round experiences in the province,” says Laurie Bell, Tourism Development Officer for the City of Kawartha Lakes.

If you can’t make it to Fenelon Falls for the live broadcast, you can watch Breakfast Television on City TV, online at www.bttoronto.ca/live or through their Android and iOS apps.
