Musical Theatre: Capitol Theatre presents Rapunzel: A Merry (Hairy) Panto at Capitol Theatre Arts Centre (20 Queen St., Port Hope, L1A 2Y7). Written by Second City creative director Carly Heffernan and directed by Cherissa Richards, this world premiere panto is a twisted take on the classic fairy tale. Rapunzel is bored and lonely, with her lengthy braid as her only potential for escape. When a dim-witted prince accidentally discovers her plight, it sets in motion a string of events that will unravel the original story in surprising and wonderful way. Naughty performances at 7:30 p.m. on November 22 and 23, November 27 to December 1 (8 p.m. performance on November 29), December 11 to 14, and December 18 to 22, with a 2 p.m. matinee performance on December 10. Family performances at 2 p.m. on November 23 and 24 and December 1, 7, 8, 14, 22, and 23, and 3 p.m. on November 30, with a 7:30 p.m. evening performance on November 24.
