Deputy Mayor Doug Elmslie will be hosting seven Round Table Discussions about roads in Kawartha Lakes. The round tables will bring together community representatives in each ward to discuss the state of the 5,400 lane kilometers of roads in Kawartha Lakes and the fiscal and operational challenges of maintaining them. At each meeting the group will be challenged to generate prospective solutions for these challenges. Contributing residents will identify priorities, establish realistic standards and evaluate the implications of each recommendation brought forward in the discussion. The top three recommendations from each round table will be compiled in a report which will be presented to Council by the end of the year. Residents are welcome to attend to hear the discussion. There will be an opportunity for questions from the floor at the end of the session
