Celebration: City of Peterborough presents National Public Works Week Event beginning at 10:00 am at Nicholls Oval (725 Armour Rd., Peterborough, K9H 1Z8). esidents of all ages are invited to learn more about the essential role public works plays in keeping the City of Peterborough running safely and efficiently. A touch-a-truck display will provide a hands-on opportunity to learn about and explore public works vehicles, and chat with the crews who operate the equipment. The city's arborists will be demonstrating tree climbing and tree-planting techniques, with a guided tree identification tour of the park at 11 a.m. Public Works will also be giving away 300 two-gallon potted trees to city residents only on a first-come, first served basis.
