Heritage: Lindsay Canadian Club presents "St. John's Ward, Toronto, and Lindsay, Ontario: Unearthing Connections and Continuing the Story" by Dr. Holly Martelle beginning at 6:30 pm at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 67 - Lindsay (12 York St. N., Lindsay, K9V 3Z7). Join archaeologist Dr. Holly Martelle as she provides a brief overview of St. John's Ward, a "first arrival neighbourhood" and home to early Black, Irish, Jewish, and Chinese communities in Toronto. Dr. Martelle will focus on how the preserved building foundations and hundreds of thousands of artifacts are helping to tell the stories of the people of St. John's Ward, including the Holmes family who later made their home in Lindsay.
