Theatre: Trent Valley Archives Theatre presents "Tide of Hope" beginning at 7:30 pm at Market Hall Performing Arts Centre (140 Charlotte St., Peterborough, K9H 7E8). Written by Ed Schroeter and directed by Gerry McBride, the inaugural production of Trent Valley Archives Theatre is set in 1825, in the Blackwater district of Ireland at the height of the agrarian rebellion against excessive land rents and church tithes, and tells the story of David Nagle, an Irish land agent and rent collector forced to flee to Upper Canada in 1825 when Irish rebels brand him a traitor. This performance for the general public is a fundraiser for Trent Valley Archives. Performances for school groups will be held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on May 15. Cost: $36 assigned cabaret seating, $26 regular assigned seating (plus $4 service charge). For more information and tickets, visit https://markethall.org/.
