Artist Talk: Art Gallery of Peterborough presents Artist Talk: Madeline Aasivak Qumuataq beginning at 11:00 am at Art Gallery of Peterborough (250 Crescent St., Peterborough, K9J 2G1). Madeleine Qumuatuq, respected knowledge holder, interpreter, and advocate for Inuit women with over 30 years of leadership, will speak about how settler colonialism has shaped Inuit life through a broad concept of waste. Recognized for her work advancing Inuit Traditional Knowledge (Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit), wellness, and women’s rights, her talk will begin with the lighting of a qulliq (oil lamp) and include personal reflections, and intergenerational insights.
