Concert: Peterborough Symphony Orchestra presents "Inspired" featuring guest artist Gillian Derer beginning at 3:00 pm at Showplace Performance Centre (290 George St. N., Peterborough, K9J 3H2). Featuring Canadian classics "Postcards from the Sky" by Marjan Mozetich and "Akasha/Sky" by Glen Buhr combined with Mozart's crystalline Flute Concerto no. 1 with up-and-coming virtuoso flutist Gillian Derer, Ottorino Respighi's "Botticelli Triptych" and Igor Stravinsky's "Pulcinella Suite." This repertoire for smaller orchestra has been chosen in order to spotlight the soloists from within the orchestra. Cost: $57 Section A, $50 Section B, $36 Section C ($15 for students for all seats), with $30 for day-of-concert rush seats. Season subscriptions also available.
