Heritage: Trent Valley Archives presents Beyond the Ships' Lists: St. Peter's Cemetery Tour beginning at 2:00 pm in Peterborough. A walking tour of St. Peter's Cemetery at 870 High St. that tells the stories of some of the Peter Robinson emigrants who came to the area in 1825 and exploring the impact they (and their descendants) have had on the community in the 200 years since their arrival. St. Peter's Cemetery opened in 1859 for burials and has served the Catholic community of this area ever since, becoming the final resting place of many of the early Irish settlers. Led by TVA researcher Gillian Holden, the tour will profile a variety of people and families including soldiers, NHL players, and a Monsignor and will try to answer the question of why folks decided to leave Ireland at that time. Cost: $20 in advance. For more information and to register, visit https://trentvalleyarchives.com/events/.
