Family: David Robinson / Snowshoe Canada presents Kawartha Lakes Winter Festival beginning at 10:00 am at Eganridge Resort, Golf Club & Spa (26 Country Club Drive, Fenelon Falls, K0M 1N0). An inaugural outdoor family health, fitness, and wellness event featuring endurance snowshoe and trail running on groomed trails in the morning followed by non-competitive outdoor family fun activities in the afternoon. The snowshoe running event serving as the national championship for Snowshoe Canada will include a trophy and a cash purse of $1,000 for the top three male and female winners in the long course event, with age group medals to the top three in age groups 13-19, 20-29, 40-59, and 60+. Afternoon family activities will include bring-your-own tobogganing, snowman building, maple syrup tasting, snowmobile rides, and a special demonstration by the Fleming College Logger Sports team. In the afternoon, musician Shannon Roszell will perform in the resort bar. Cost: Running registration fee $19.16 - $91.28 (depending on age and course).
