Film: Trent Valley Archives presents "Painter's Portraits" by Nick Van der Graaf beginning at 2:00 pm at Catharine Parr Traill College (315 Dublin St,, Peterborough, K9H 2Z4). The world premiere of the short documentary film "Painter's Portraits" by local filmmaker Nick Van der Graaf, inspired by his observation of the many portraits of local people which hang on the walls at Trent Valley Archives that are the work of artist Gilbert Painter, who was noted in his youth as an artistic prodigy but who became an engineer and, after WW II, worked at GE in Peterborough. On retirement, Painter concentrated on developing his artistic skills, painting hundreds of people across the region. The screening of the 15-minute film in Bagnani Hall will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker on the filmmaking process and others who contributed to the film.
