The City of Peterborough is enhancing the urban forest at Wedgewood Park (1535 Fairmount Blvd.) by planting 515 new native tree species as part of the Trees 4 Peterborough initiative in partnership with RBC Dominion Securities, The Excelsior Group, Peterborough Homes, Merrett Home Hardware, and GreenUP. The tree planting event is being held to help reforest the park as the city will be removing 250 ash trees that are dead or dying because of the emerald ash borer. Bring your own reusable water bottle (water available on site), dress appropriately, and bring a shovel if possible.
