The Sunderland Maple Syrup Festival officially launches the 2026 season with its annual first tapping ceremony at Harlaine Farms (1015 Brock Concession Rd 1, Sunderland). Dignitaries, festival organizers, maple producers, and local residents will gather to witness the tapping of the first maple tree, a time-honoured ritual celebrating both the arrival of spring and Sunderland’s proud agricultural roots. Guests are encouraged to dress warmly and wear suitable footwear, as the event takes place outdoors.
