"Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny" is returning to Port Hope on April 13, 2024, although the Crazy Craft race will not take place this year due to the closure of the Sylvan Glen Bridge for replacement. For her thesis project, Carelton University public history master's candidate Holly Benison has launched a video series that combines the cooking network with the history channel. In "The Backwoods Kitchen," she follows recipes from Upper Canada settler Catharine Parr Traill's 1854 book "The Female Emigrant's Guide" such as preserved apples.
