Fundraiser: YMCA Northumberland presents "Encore at the Midway" beginning at 8:00 pm at Port Hope Drive-In Theatre (2141 Theatre Rd. S., Cobourg, K9A 4J7). The Port Hope (Midway) Drive-In Theatre, which closed in 2023, will reopen for two nights in September for a fundraiser for YMCA Northumberland's Back on Track transformative program. supporting at-risk youth in need across Northumberland County. Friday night will feature golden era movies (1930s - 1970s) and Saturday night will feature classic blockbusters (1980s - early 2000s), with family-friendly films screening at dusk followed by broad-appeal favourites at 10:30 p.m. Live local bands, food trucks, and other surprise activities will be showcased at this non-alcoholic family event to create a festival atmosphere before the movies begin. Ticket includes admission for one carload to all the festivities, as well as access to both features and complimentary popcorn (while supplies last). Each night is limited to 400 vehicles.
