Film: 4th Line Theatre and Lakefield College School presents "We Lend A Hand: The Forgotten Story of Ontario Farmerettes" beginning at 7:00 pm at Bryan Jones Theatre, Lakefield College School (4391 County Rd. 29, Lakefield, K0L 2H0). This award-winning documentary shares the little-known story of the 40,000 teenage girls who worked on Canadian farms during and after the Second World War, helping sustain the country's food supply. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with filmmakers Colin Field and Bonnie Sitter and 4th Line Theatre's Managing Artistic Director Kim Blackwell, along with an opportunity to purchase signed copies of "Onion Skins and Peach Fuzz: Memories of Ontario Farmerettes" by Sitter and Shirleyan English. A portion of ticket sales will go to 4th Line Theatre's 30 to the Future Endowment Fund and Lakefield College's Northcote Farm Endowment. As well, a collection will be taken for the recent victims of the tragic fire in downtown Lakefield. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Cost: $25.
