Workshop: Kawartha Conservation and Bird Friendly Kawartha Lakes present Walks on the Wild Side - "Timberdoodle Time" beginning at 7:00 pm at Ken Reid Conservation Area (277 Kenrei Road, Lindsay, K9V 4R2). Few birds are as unique or as entertaining as the American Woodcock, also known as the timberdoodle, bogsucker, or brush snipe. Join Markus Legzdins from Fleming College to learn about this extraordinary and threatened species, famous for its big eyes, remarkable camouflage, and mesmerizing spiraling "skydance" courtship display. Afterward, venture outside at dusk for the chance to witness this unforgettable mating ritual in person. One of a series of free monthly workshops held at Ken Reid Conservation Area made possible with funding from the Retired Teachers of Ontario, District 18. Cost: Free, but limited space. Registration is first-come first-served. For more information and to register, visit https://events.kawarthaconservation.com/.
