Discussion: 4th Line Theatre presents Spring Artist Talk - Kim Blackwell in Conversation with Patti Shaughnessy beginning at 2:00 pm at Peterborough Museum and Archives (Museum Dr. at 300 Hunter St. E., Peterborough, K9J 6Y5). 4th Line Theatre managing artistic director Kim Blackwell will explore the career of director, performer, and artistic producer Patti Shaughnessy, who was an Indigenous story consultant for and a performer in Megan Murphy's "Wild Irish Geese," which premiered in summer 2025 and will be remounted in summer 2026. The play tells the story of impoverished Catholic Irish settlers who came to the Peterborough region in the early 19th century under an emigration plan overseen by Peter Robinson, a politician in Upper Canada who represented the riding of York and Simcoe. Around 2,500 settlers, mostly from County Cork in Ireland, settled in Lanark County, Carleton County (today Ottawa), and Scott's Plains, later renamed Peterborough. Shaughnessy is a direct descendant of Peter Robinson emigrants. Cost: Free. For more information and to reserve a seat, contact 4th Line Theatre's Box Office at 705-932-4445 or boxoffice@4thlinetheatre.on.ca.
