Concert: Peterborough Symphony Orchestra presents "Light in the Winter Night" beginning at 7:30 pm at Showplace Performance Centre (290 George St. N., Peterborough, K9J 3H2). The orchestra's holiday concert features a Canadian work, "Making Light, A Holiday Tale for All Ages" by Abigail Richardson-Schulte with text by Alexis Diamond. With holiday party plans quashed by a fierce winter storm, narrator Linda Kash will take her young companion and the audience on a journey that celebrates various world holidays: Christmas (Christian), Eid al Fitr (Islamic), Chanukah (Jewish), Diwali (Hindu), as well as a legend of the Northern Lights from the Anishinaabeg First Nations. A "Meet the Maestro" pre-concert talk takes place at 6:45 p.m. Cost: $72 - $285 for season subscriptions. Single tickets go on sale September 1.
