Madeleine Qumuatuq, respected knowledge holder, interpreter, and advocate for Inuit women with over 30 years of leadership, will speak about how settler colonialism has shaped Inuit life through a broad concept of waste. Recognized for her work advancing Inuit Traditional Knowledge (Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit), wellness, and women’s rights, her talk will begin with the lighting of a qulliq (oil lamp) and include personal reflections, and intergenerational insights.
