As the ice retreats each spring, Ken Reid becomes a vital stopover and breeding area for thousands of ducks, geese, and swans. Rob Stavinga will guide you through the basics of waterfowl identification, including plumage patterns, behaviors, and calls, while sharing tips on the best viewing locations throughout the conservation area. Following the session, enjoy a guided walk to observe these impressive birds during one of the most active migration periods of the year. One of a series of free monthly workshops held at Ken Reid Conservation Area made possible with funding from the Retired Teachers of Ontario, District 18.
