A two-session workshop facilitated by Mercedes Davy about staging intimacy safely, including consent, boundaries, and best practices for theatres. The first session from 10 a.m. - noon is recommended for directors, stage managers, producers, and theatre board members and will focus on the importance of intimacy direction, when to bring an intimacy director in, and how to identify if they are the right fit for the company. There will also be additional consultation on where fight and intimacy intersect (scenes where one gets stage combat and intimacy in the same moment) and how to navigate them. Guidance will be provided on best practices in theatre spaces. The second session from 1 - 4 p.m. will be an interactive workshop that will be of particular interest to actors.
