After more than 20 years as a volunteer and employee at Lang Pioneer Village Museum in Keene, museum operations coordinator Hailey Doughty discovered she is a descendent of Daniel Kidd, the blacksmith who worked in and built the blacksmith shop currently at the living history museum. The discovery inspired Doughty to take a blacksmith workshop alongside her father, which has ignited a new passion for the trade among the family's current generation.
