kawarthaNOW has learned that Investors Group is moving into the former Craftworks building at the northeast corner of Sherbrooke and Water Streets in downtown Peterborough.

This would be a second location in Peterborough for Investors Group, which currently has a regional office in Peterborough at Lansdowne Street and Brealey Drive, as well as an office in downtown Lindsay.

The building is best known as the former location of Craftworks, the furniture and craft store that had a giant rocking chair on the corner.

It has been vacant for the past two years. In 2009, after 12 years in downtown Peterborough, Craftworks left the building to move to its new location near Fowler’s Corners. The following year, the Ministry of Natural Resources leased the building for three years as a temporary workspace for employees while renovations took place at Robinson Place at 300 Water Street.
