Megan Gallant is an adventure lover who holds an M.A. in Critical and Creative Writing from the University of Gloucestershire. Her favourite place to be is near the water and between the pines in her worn-out hammock, reading true crime, drinking coffee, and cuddling her adorable goldendoodle.
In April 2022, Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region helped 41 individuals, seniors, couples, and families become homeowners with the completion of Phase One of the 33 Leahy's Lane multi-residential condominium. Tyrone Flowers first moved to Peterborough with his spouse Lauren Mortlock five years ago with the goal of opening their own restaurant. In May, after two decades working in every from dishwasher to bartender and chef, Flowers opened The Vine, offering a menu focused on seafood and plant-based options to pair with a weekend brunch. Owner and registered dental hygienist Kara Parcells takes a client-focused approach to dental hygiene.
In 2018, Peterborough photographer Heather Doughty was inspired to start a portrait project that would showcase remarkable local women and encourage them to tell their stories. Inspire: The Women's Portrait Project now includes portraits and stories of over 500 women and has expanded with additional projects featuring inspiring women including FarmHER, She Inspires Me, Mom Bod, and Day of the Girl.
