In "Making the Connections: A Retrospective" at the 2025 Nogojiwanong Indigenous Fringe Festival (NIFF), Muriel Miguel will share her journey from the streets of Brooklyn to her pioneering contributions to the contemporary feminist and Indigenous theatre movements in the United States, Canada, and around the world. Miguel is the founder and artistic director of New York City's Spiderwoman Theater, the longest-running Indigenous theatre company in North America. Community Futures Peterborough makes ‘record-breaking investment’ of $100,000 in 10 area organizations

Local hero Mark Fevang, who has helped raise nearly $100,000 since 2001 to support those experiencing homelessness in Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County through A Place Called Home, will once again be leading the 22nd annual "Mark-a-thon Hero Walk" on June 21, 2025 in Lindsay.
