Benefit Concert: Women's Resources of Kawartha Lakes presents The Trews beginning at 7:30 pm at FLATO Academy Theatre (2 Lindsay St. S., Lindsay, K9V 2L6). The annual marquee fundraising event for Women's Resources of Kawartha Lakes features The Trews, one of Canada's most successful rock bands of the past two decades. Originally from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, The Trews are celebrated for their high-energy hard rock swagger, anthemic choruses, and exceptional four-part vocal harmonies. Emerging in the early 2000s, the band led by brothers Colin MacDonald (vocals) and John-Angus MacDonald (guitar) alongside keyboardist Jeff Heisholt quickly established themselves as one of the country's hardest-working and most prolific touring acts. Their extensive career is decorated with multiple Juno Award nominations, East Coast Music Awards, and a massive presence on Canadian rock radio. Cost: $110 including fees.
