"A Nice Indian Boy" is an American romantic comedy-drama directed by Roshan Sethi. The screenplay by Eric Randall was adapted from Madhuri Shekar's acclaimed stage play. The film stars Karan Soni as Naveen Gavaskar, a shy Indian-American doctor, and Jonathan Groff as Jay Kurundkar, a free-spirited photographer raised by Indian immigrant parents. Naveen has never fully revealed his truth until a chance meeting at a Hindu temple leads to romance, awkward introductions to family, and the longing for a grand, Indian wedding. As Jay meets Naveen's parents (Zarna Garg and Harish Patel) and sister Arundhathi (Sunita Mani), cultural quirks and emotional resistance give way to heartfelt comedy and a touching celebration of love, identity, and belonging. Screenings at 2 and 7 p.m. Part of the three-film fall TIFF Film Circuit Bancroft series
