Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards, this musical comedy follows an eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Music and lyrics by William Finn with book by Rachel Sheinkin. Evening performances at 7 p.m. July 8 to 11 and July 15 to 18 with matinee performances at 2 p.m. on July 9, 11 and 12, 16, and 18 and 19.
