This gala concert marking 60 years of music-making opens with "Suspended Doorways" by Canadian composer Saman Shahi. Acclaimed pianist Philip Chiu joins the orchestra for Sergei Rachmaninoff's "Piano Concerto No. 2," and the concert concludes with Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade." A "Meet the Maestro" pre-concert talk takes place at 6:45 p.m. At additional cost, attendees can attend a celebratory post-concert gala and meet the maestro, soloist, and musicians and enjoy food and drink.
