Directed by Lisa Dixon, "Venus in Fur" by David Ives is a darkly comic two-character play about a frustrated director auditioning actresses for his adaptation of an erotic 19th-century novel. When an apparently ill-prepared performer arrives late and persuades him to let her audition, the balance of power begins to shift as the line between the play and reality gradually blurs. Evening performances at 7:30 p.m. on September 18 and 19, 24 and 25, and October 1 to 3, with 1:30 p.m. matinee performances on September 20 and 26 and 27.
