This presentation includes two stories of displacement and survival that seem appropriate on Remembrance Day. "The Almost Forgotten Children" by Joan Knighton tells the history behind the British Home Children — more than 100,000 young boys and girls sent from Great Britain to Canada between 1869 and 1948 as part of a child emigration movement. In "Surviving Genocide, a Family Testimony", Irv Handler shares emotional stories of how his Holocaust survivor parents and extended family suffered and survived the genocide and how inter-generational trauma affected his life. His presentation may be upsetting to some audiences.
