In the Capitol Theatre's Creators' Unit, participating artists work alongside artistic director Rob Kempson to develop their projects over the course of a year through readings, dramaturgy, and peer-to-peer conversation, culminating in the annual Playreading Week. "But Why/Because" is a new musical dramedy by Kaitlyn Riordan and Aaron Jensen about the fraught relationship between a single mother and her son as a result of her desperate decision 28 years before to fabricate an honourable life (and death) for her son's estranged father.
