What’s new on Netflix Canada in March 2022

Highlights include The Adam Project, Rescued By Ruby, The Guardians of Justice, Pieces of Her, season two of Bridgerton, and more

Every month, kawarthaNOW is the only local media source to bring you a list of what’s coming to Netflix Canada. Here are a few highlights of what’s coming in March — although, with Netflix raising its prices again in March, you’ll have to decide whether all this is worth it.

Beloved Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds stars in the new Netflix science-fiction film The Adam Project. Reynolds plays Adam Reed, a time-travelling fighter pilot who crash-lands back in 2022, where he teams up with his 12-year-old self (Walker Scobell) on a mission to save the future by confronting their late father (Mark Ruffalo). The film, which also stars Jennifer Garner, premieres on Netflix on Friday, March 11th.

Rescued By Ruby, based on a true story, stars Grant Gustin as a state trooper who dreams of joining the K-9 search and rescue team when fate brings him together with shelter dog Ruby. The Netflix film premieres on Thursday, March 17th. There’s also Windfall, a Hitchcockian thriller that follows a young tech billionaire and his wife (Jesse Plemons and Lily Collins) who arrive at their vacation home only to find it’s being robbed. It premieres on Saturday, March 18th.

Other new Netflix films include Against The Ice (Mar. 2), The Weekend Away (Mar. 3), and Black Crab (Mar. 18).

New Netflix series include The Guardians of Justice, a dark satire of the superhero genre that mixes live action with traditional animation, claymation, cut-out paper animation, and eight-bit video game footage. The seven-episode series premieres on Tuesday, March 1st.

The thriller drama series Pieces of Her, based on the New York Times bestseller by Karin Slaughter, which follows the story of Andrea (Bella Heathcote) who pieces together the dark past of her mother (Toni Collette) after she witnesses her mother easily eliminate the threat of a mass shooter at a local diner. It premieres on Netflix on Friday, March 4th. There’s also Is It Cake?, a Netflix series premiering on Friday, March 18th, where skilled cake artists create mouthwatering replicas of handbags, sewing machines, and more in a mind-bending baking contest hosted by Mikey Day.

Other new Netflix series include Making Fun (Mar. 4), Byron Baes (Mar. 9), Queer Eye Germany (Mar. 9), Life After Death with Tyler Henry (Mar. 11), Eternally Confused and Eager for Love (Mar. 18), and Human Resources (Mar. 18).

Shonda Rhimes’ hit Netflix series Bridgerton returns for its second season on Friday, March 25th, in which Anthony Bridgerton decides to marry, only to meet his match in his intended bride’s headstrong big sister.

Other returning Netflix series include season five of The Last Kingdom (Mar. 9), season two of Karma’s World (Mar. 10), season four of Formula 1: Drive to Survive (Mar. 11), season two of Top Boy (Mar. 18), and season two of Animal (Mar. 18). Other series include season 11 of Shameless (Mar. 6), season eight of The Flash (Mar. 18), and seasons one to four of Casual (Mar. 31).

New Netflix documentaries include Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives, premiering on Wednesday, March 16th. The four-part series uncovers how celebrity restaurateur Sarma Melngailis went from being the queen of vegan cuisine to the tabloid-touted “Vegan Fugitive” when she falls for a man who promises to make her dreams come true but they instead fall apart. There’s also Worst Roommate Ever,

Other new Netflix documentaries include Worst Roommate Ever (Mar. 1), Surviving Paradise: A Family Tale (Mar. 3), The Andy Warhol Diaries (Mar. 9), Hei$t: The Great Robbery of Brazil’s Central Bank (Mar. 16), The Principles of Pleasure (Mar. 22), and Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King (Mar. 30).

It explores how Sarma Melngailis, the celebrity restaurateur behind the glittering New York hotspot Pure Food and Wine, went from being the queen of vegan cuisine to being known as the “Vegan Fugitive.” Shortly after meeting a man named Shane Fox on Twitter in 2011, Melngailis begins draining her restaurant’s funds and funnelling the money to Fox after he cons her into believing he could make her dreams — from expanding her food empire to making her beloved pitbull immortal — a reality … but only if she continues to obey his every request without question. A few years later the couple, now married and on the lam after stealing nearly $2 million from the restaurant and its staff, are found holed up in a Tennessee motel by law enforcement. Their undoing?
