Woman pronounced dead at scene of single-ATV collision on private property on 6th Line West near Campbellford

A 65-year-old Campbellford woman is dead after her all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crashed on Friday afternoon (October 25).

At around 3 p.m. on Friday, Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency medical services responded to the scene of the single-ATV collision on private property in the area of 6th Line West near Campbellford.

The lone rider, a 65-year-old woman from Campbellford, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Office of Chief Coroner for Ontario has been notified of the woman’s death. Members of the OPP’s technical collision investigation team are documenting the scene, and the police investigation is ongoing.

While police have not released any details about the crash, the OPP is reminding riders to take all precautions when operating an off-road vehicle.

“Know your limits, stay within them, and always wear an approved well-fitted helmet with chinstrap securely fastened,” a media release states.
