The Korean Jindo dog is a breed of hunting dog that originated on Jindo, an island just southwest of the Korean Peninsula, and is celebrated in its native land for its fierce loyalty, homing instinct, and brave nature. The 15 dogs are part of a group of 80 dogs that Humane Society International rescued from a Korean meat farm, where they lived in terrible conditions and were fated to be slaughtered.
