Celebration: City of Peterborough, New Canadians Centre, and Nogojiwanong Friendship Centre presents Opening of the Millennium Time Capsule beginning at 10:00 am at Millennium Park Peterborough (130 King St., Peterborough, K9J 4P6). Residents are invited to join a special community celebration to witness the opening of the Millennium Time Capsule, originally sealed in the Millennium Park Fountain in 2000, and see a selection of items that captured life in Peterborough at the dawn of the 21st century. In honour of the City's 175th anniversary since its incorporation as the Town of Peterborough, the 175th Anniversary Time Capsule will be buried during the event, to be opened in 2050. Residents are invited to enjoy light refreshments, receive a commemorative pin, and take a photo. Naandewegaan - Healing with Drums will be part of the celebration.
