Staff of the Emergency Department at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) undergo simulation training to prepare for real-life emergency scenarios using a pediatric mannequin. The PRHC Foundation has made it a priority to support the simulation training program by investing in a state-of-the-art adult mannequin with the help of donors. One of many areas of urgent care being supported through PRHC's $70 million Campaign for PRHC, the new simulation mannequin will better mimic human patients to improve learning outcomes, communication, and collaboration across teams during real-life emergencies.
