City of Kawartha Lakes Public Library presents Young Writers Workshops

Time:6 p.m.
Location:    Fenelon Falls Library (19 Market St., Fenelon Falls)
We are pleased to present a series of workshops for young writers which encourage children to write and illustrate their own books. The meetings will be held on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of each month commencing on February 7th, 2013. Workshops will focus on generating an idea, creating a story outline, writing the story, establishing the book layout, including illustrations and producing a completed book. Suitable for children aged 8 - 11 years, writing workshops help to elevate self-esteem and create a positive outlook on books and reading. More than 50 children have participated in the Library’s young writer workshops and have written and illustrated their own books. Many of these books are available in the Library and can be borrowed by other young library patrons. You can find them in the library online catalogue under the key words “you want to be a writer”. A similar workshop will be held in the spring at the Lindsay branch library – dates and time to be announced.
