Serena is a normal 15-year-old girl. She loves her mom and dad, she has loyal friends and she is struggling to find herself and her place in an increasingly complex world. An act of violence shatters Serena's world and shakes a community to its core, pitting young people and neighbours against each other as sides are taken and lines are drawn. This play unflinchingly explores social media and cyberbullying among today's youth. Playwright Judith Thompson dives deep into the heart of our culture to examine the roots of sexual violence and the culture of toxic masculinity we struggle to understand. This 4th Line Theatre world premiere features a large cast, youth chorus and elements of the epic and the intimate. Previews August 6 & 7, opening night August 8th. Monday to Saturday at 6 p.m. Trigger warning: mature content, 14+.
