Twice Juno Award nominated indie rock trio The Rural Alberta Advantage has explored themes ranging from hometowns lost and found to tragic Alberta disasters, presenting a frank and forthright style of songwriting that has continued to leave its mark and grab fans around the world. Juno Award nominated indie rock band The Elwins formed in the Newmarket area in 2006. The single So Down Low helped earn The Elwins a 2016 Juno Award nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year, its peaking at #12 on the Canadian alt rock listing catching the attention of Fido which used the song for a Canada-wide advertising campaign
