A hilarious and brand-new take on the “classic” story of Red Riding Hood, written by Arbor Theatre’s new Creative Director – experienced and well known local professional theatre artist Em Glasspool. The story follows a grumpy 12 year old 6th Grader named Freida – “don’t call me Fried – call me Red!” as she breaks a few rules, explores a magical forest, meets a talking Wolf and his sled team of Wolf cubs, as well as a host of other magical creatures – like singing and dancing flowers! – on her way to her Grandmother’s house. In the end, she discovers the true meaning of Christmas and most importantly, Red and the creatures of the magical forest discover the importance of friendship and celebrating in the attributes that make each of us different and unique. Children of all ages will find something to love in this fast paced, witty and original script, featuring hilarious dialogue, live music, dance, and a cast of over 50 performers, aged 4 and up
