Celebrate the sweetest time of the year and the Canadian tradition of maple syrup production by bringing the whole family to a participating sugar bush near you. Many producers offer free samples of fresh maple syrup and confections, along with pancake breakfasts, sugar bush trails, sugar-making demonstrations, taffy on snow, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and more. Participating producers in the Kawarthas region include Colour of Wood in Minden, Waverly Brook Farm in Haliburton, Rainbow Woods in Kirkfield, Woodleigh Farms and Staples Maple Syrup in Cavan, Clancey & Gale's Maple Syrup Products and Puddleduck Farm in Pontypool, Red Mill Maple Syrup, J & K Sugar Shack, and Sweet Maple Farm in Millbrook, and Johnston's Farm Market in Bailieboro.
